Espresso Macchiato

May 30, 2007

‘Macchiato’ means ‘stained’ in Italian. An Espresso Macchiato is an Espresso stained with a dollop of foam. There shouldn’t be any milk in the drink. A good Espresso Macchiato has a dollop of foam that is dense and shiny surrounded by a circle of crema.

The foam enhances the flavour of the Espresso and makes it a truely wonderful drink.
