Arabica and Robusta

Here are some main differences between Arabica (Coffea Arabica) and Robusta (Coffea Canephora) coffee beans.

Arabica beans are bigger and the flat side of the bean have a crack in the shape of a S. The Robusta coffee bean has a crack that is more in a straight line.

Arabica plants grow better on higher altitudes and in a temperate climate. Robusta plants grow best in a warm humid climates and on lower altitudes.

Robusta beans have a higher caffeine content than Arabica beans.

Robusta beans are usually sold for 25% less than the price of Arabica beans.
